Tonga is not a luxury destination, but it does have comfortable properties. Earlier this year, I stayed at two of Tonga's best properties. Olini Lodge and Waterfront Lodge. Olini Lodge is a wonderful small 5-room guest house with warm hosts and complimentary high-speed internet as one of the only properties in the Pacific. The local hosts were some of the most helpful in all my travels, and I enjoyed their company. They even arranged the national Tv to come and interview at their property during my visit.
Waterfront Lodge has eight rooms but is more of a small corporate hotel, than a guest house. Owned by an Italian and most probably the best hotel in Tonga, although Olini Lodge is a more personalized experience.
