Introduction: Sleep peacefully and dine well in Sofitel Malabo President Palace a 5-star luxury hotel in Malabos historic city center.
With breathtaking views over Malabo Cathedral the president of Equatorial Guineas official residence and bustling port and bay this elegant Malabo hotel is an easy stroll from businesses government offices restaurants and entertainment.
Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.
Below is my experience based on a three-night stay at the property.
My arrival experience: before being escorted to the room.
What I loved: The central location.
What about the food: Sipopo exceeded my expectations by far with their excellent food. Sofitel Malabo President Palace met my expectations. Tried several things on the menu and it was consistently good.
What about the service: What I expected in a country like Equatorial Guinea. Slow, but friendly.
What about the rooms: A little tired, but almost up to Sofitel's standards. Hermés product and a rainshower within the bathtub. Sipopo did not have rain-shower.
Number of rooms: 100.
Type of property: City hotel.
Location: Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Facilities: Pool, gym and business/meeting facilities.
Complimentary internet: Yes, but slow. The Sofotel Sipopo has a much faster line.
My overall impression: Good+ experience. The overall experience is close to Sofitel standards, but far from their Sipopo property, I personally consider the best Sofitel hotel I have stayed in the world.
