Introduction:An award-winning 5 star hotel in the heart of the Marina Bay City, Marina Mandarin Singapore offers top value with breathtaking views of the Marina Bay and financial district, as well as convenient access to the Marina Square Shopping Mall.
Directly opposite Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, the hotel is also within walking distance to attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, The Esplanade- Theatres by the Bay and is perfectly situated right on the trackside of the annual Singapore Grand Prix Formula One race.
With a distinctively majestic atrium soaring through 21 levels of the hotel, Marina Mandarin Singapore is imbued with a philosophy of providing Asian grace, warmth and care in an atmosphere of relaxed elegance.
Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.
Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
What I loved: Nothing in particular, but it's a great location for exploring Singapore.
What about the food: Very disappointing food. I was offered a really bad pizza for lunch, but would have preferred to go hungry. Many Asian hotels lack good western food and Marina Mandarin is sadly one of them. They should definitely consider lowering their prices as the quality is not there. An example is 20 dollars for a mushroom soup. Make sure to eat outside the hotel.
What about the service: Professional run hotel with good service. Comparable to a Hilton hotel.
What about the rooms: Old, but comfortable rooms with the basic needs for business travellers. No rain-shower and cheap products in the bathroom made me a bit disappointed with the room.
Number of rooms: 575
Type of property: City hotel.
Location: Singapore.
Facilities: Spa, gym, swimming pool and business/meeting facilities.
Complimentary internet: Yes with acceptable speed.
Affiliations: Five Star Alliance.
My overall impression: Good+ experience. Select this hotel for good value in a comfortable hotel with excellent location.
